From the book “Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective” by Randy Alcorn
Kumusta kayong lahat, welcome to our fifth week of our daily devotions, fifth week of 2021. I am happy that we are beginning a new week so day one we’ll be looking at John 1:14 and John 1:17.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14 (ESV)
17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
John 1:17 (ESV)
Ang devotion po natin is entitled: Full of Grace and Truth. And we know who this is referring to, Jesus is the one who is full of grace, He is truth, right? To soften the gospel by minimizing truth keep people from Jesus. Attempts to toughen the Gospel by minimizing risky people from Jesus, in what manner?
If we soften the truth, if we water-down the Gospel, sasabihin ng ilan, so wala naman palang pinagkakaiba? If we don’t highlight the truth that God is holy, that man is wicked, therefore man is condemned to hell unless he believes in the Lord Jesus Christ. Kung hindi natin sinabi yun mga katotohanang yun, they would say I don’t need Jesus, then but if we toughen the Gospel by minimizing grace he would also keep people from Jesus. It’s not enough for us to offer grace or truth, we need to offer both. We need to live out both. We should be standing up for the truth, standing up for God’s Word.
Our devotion comes from the book:
