Coming to Grips with Our Mortality (February 6, 2021)

From the book “Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective” by Randy Alcorn

Kumusta po kayo. Welcome to our weekender. Ito po ang last na devotion natin for the week, our fourth week of 2021.

16 But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.

Hebrews 11:16 (ESV)

21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 23 I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

Philippians 1:21 and 23 (ESV)

“What do we gain if we pretend mortality isn’t a fact of life?” Let’s pretend for a while. Alam niyo po isa sa mga reasons sa aking palagay, kung bakit ang generation na ito, ay very fascinated with superheroes, and fantasy films, because of the, siguro sa pananaw natin, we have this parang fantasy of living forever, di ba?

Our devotion comes from the book:
