From the book “Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective” by Randy Alcorn
Blessed Friday everyone, welcome po sa ating devotion. And as we go back to our daily devotions looking at seeing the unseen, having a daily dose of eternal perspective.
22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,
Psalm 94:22 (ESV)
and my God the rock of my refuge.
14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.
Hebrews 2:14-15 (ESV)
We will be talking about the Christian Optimist. When we say optimists, sila yung mga taong laging parang positive lang yung tinitignan, yung parang hindi sila tumitingin sa negative but with regards to the believers we are not just merely looking at the positive di ba?, or looking at the brighter side, or looking at is the glass half full or half empty? no we’re not like that. Hindi lang siya just perspective. Optimism, if you would use that, is based on reality. Hindi lang right perspective, it’s based on reality.
Sabi rito ni Randy Alcorn, “The only proper foundation for optimism is the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.” The person and work of Christ would be a beautiful foundation for us to have a good disposition towards life. Any other foundation is sand, not rock. It will not bear the weight of our eternity.
Our devotion comes from the book:
