From the book “Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective” by Randy Alcorn
Fifth day na po natin sa ating Daily Devotions, nagpapasalamat ako sa ating Panginoong Diyos na tayo ay nagpapatuloy sa ating pag-aaral. And as we go back to our devotional, Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective, we will be looking at Psalm 90 and Colossians 4.
12 So teach us to number our days
Psalm 90:12 (ESV)
that we may get a heart of wisdom.
5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.
Colossians 4:5 (ESV)
Today ang ididiscuss natin, ang ating pag-uusapan, investing not just managing our time. Ephesians 5:15-16 we were warned not to waste our time but we are brought up to waste our lives. “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.” Sabi ni Randy Alcorn, “Look up TV, computer, sports radio, and social networking in a concordance. No place in the Bible commands us to participate in them. But plenty of verses command us to be pure and good manager of the life—time, abilities, money, and opportunities—God has entrusted to you.
Sabi ni C.T. Studd: “Don’t squander your time. Only one life, ’twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” This is not at all saying, and they’re not a proponent of that, that we should get rid of like TV, computer, sports radio, and social networking. But what this is telling us is that, these things have no eternal value. I mean, I love sports, I mean ako ay isang sports fan and I love sports as well. I love looking at the social media, para makipagconnect sa mga friends from other parts of the world. But if you would think carefully, ano ang nagrurule ng life natin? We are not commanded to participate and spend that much time and waste our life in those. But we were commanded to be good managers of our life and just to number our days to be good managers of our time, abilities, money of course, and opportunities. Para saan? Para sa Diyos, dahil alam natin na pinagkatiwala ng Diyos sa atin ang mga bagay na ito, so therefore we should not put them to waste.
We know all will soon pass but only what’s done for Christ will last.
