Finding the Ultimate Satisfaction | March 11, 2021

From the book “Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective” by Randy Alcorn

Blessed Thursday everyone. Welcome po sa ating devotions and today we’ll be looking at Psalm 36 and one of my favorite Psalms–Psalm 63.

9 For with You is the fountain of life;
    in Your light do we see light.

Psalm 36:9 (ESV)

1 O God, You are my God; earnestly I seek You;
    my soul thirsts for You;
my flesh faints for You,
    as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Psalm 63:1 (NIV)

Therefore, ating pag-uusapan is yung longing for God and finding ultimate satisfaction and that is only found in the Lord. Ang sabing ganun po dito ni Randy Alcorn: “Ultimate satisfaction can be found only in God gracious and the greatest Giver of all good things. We were made for Him and we will never be satisfied with less. Coming to grips with this is one of the great keys to Christian living.”

Siguro narinig niyo na po yung kasabihan na sinasabi pong ganun ng mga karamihan ng mga manunulat that, “There is a God-shaped void in man’s heart that only God can fill.” Pero dahil nga, minsan hinahanap natin yung kakulangan na ‘yan sa ibang mga bagay, sa kayamanan, sa relasyon, sa pestige, and power then we would never be satisfied because only when we surrender our lives to the Lord that the void will be filled. Yung kakulangan na yan, Diyos lamang ang pwedeng magpuno, right? So sabing ganun ni Randy Alcorn, ito ang isa mga pangunahin, one of the most important, this one of the great keys to Christian living. To know that your satisfaction can only be found in God. Wala pong sinuman, wala pong halaga, gaano kalaki man ito, walang kayamanan, walang katanyagan ang pwedeng magbigay ng sapat na satisfaction kundi ang Panginoong po lamang.

Randy Alcorn continues, “When my thirst for joy is satisfied by Christ, sin becomes unattractive.” Maganda yung sinabi niya, when you find delight in the Lord, when you find satisfaction, purpose, joy in Him, wala talagang puwang ang kasalanan. And if I may add, when you find delight in His Word as well–ikaw ay saturated, then you would find sin as unattractive. So itanong natin, ‘Bakit kaya attractive sa atin ang kasalanan?’ Siguro po, hindi kaakit-akit, hindi kaganda-ganda o hindi maganda sa ating paningin ang Panginoong Diyos at Kanyang Salita, may be it’s about time for us to have a different perspective. Find in Scripture how beautiful God is and just marvel at His beauty.
