As we are in our 5th month of coronavirus quarantine, we encourage our members to be aware of and to comply with the recommendations of our government for protecting ourselves and our loved ones from Covid 19. Please see www.doh.gov.ph for the DOH recommendations regarding Covid 19.
With the cases of Covid 19 increasing rapidly, we recognize the possibility that some (even many) of us may eventually be infected with this virus. While we can always hope for the best, we should plan for the worst. Should you become infected with Covid 19, please bear in mind the following:
- Don’t panic. Don’t be afraid. Don’t blame – yourself or others. Thoughts like these are not helpful; they only make matters worse.
- Although you might have to physically isolate yourself, you don’t have to go through this alone:
- Inform the church – like your Growth Group leader, one of the Elders, Deacons or Staff. This is the time for the church to be the church: to pray for one another, to bear one another’s burdens, and to serve one another. By informing the church, you are giving us an opportunity to serve you — through prayer, helping you find a “designated shopper,” finding out information for you, and any other way we can be of service to you.
- Inform the local authorities as they will help determine if you should quarantine at home or if you should go to a medical facility.
- Most importantly, trust in GOD.
- He is in-control 100% of the time. He was not surprised by this, and He has allowed you to go through this for His glory.
- Fill your mind with truth.
- Read your Bible: Start with the Gospels, then the rest of the NT. When you’re done with that, start over in Genesis and work your way up to the NT again.
- Listen to trusted preachers: Go to the church website to listen to P.Erwin Quimboy’s sermon-series on Psalms (https://gcfeast.org/sermons/). Other trusted preachers you can listen to are:
- Jurem Ramos (https://www.sdgshepherdscall.org)
- John MacArthur (www.gty.org)
- John Piper (https://www.desiringgod.org/messages)
- RC Sproul (https://www.ligonier.org/learn/sermons/)
- Be certain of your salvation. How certain are you that, if God were to call you to His presence during this pandemic, that you will be with Him in heaven? If you have any doubts about this, please contact the church so we can discuss this with you personally.
We continue to pray that God will protect each one of us from this virus, but we also want to be prepared should God in His providence allow us to contract this virus.
“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!”
Psalm 34:8
