It’s just so wonderful as we look at today’s devotion. Again, we’re looking at the devotional written by Randy Alcorn, “Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective”. And we are looking at the fear of the Lord. And it reads, yung ating title, “The Freedom of Fearing God.” Kahapon diniscuss natin, the fear of the Lord. Blessed is the one who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways. And now we’re looking at freedom of fearing God. So, alam natin, yung lesson kahapon and yung ating devotion ngayon, parang, are two sides of one coin.
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life,
Proverbs 14:27 (ESV)
that one may turn away from the snares of death.
Only fear the LORD and serve Him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things He has done for you.
1 Samuel 12:24 (ESV)
I just, am amazed at how nagco-coincide yung ating pag-aaral. Sabing gayon dito, “Once our sins are confessed, though we still fear God, we can come boldly before His throne.” Yung fear na meron tayo is the reverence and the love that we have for God and the lesser fear has been trumped away already.
God is the owner of everything therefore we ought to bow down to Him as Lord. And this Lord is the One who also saved us from eternal damnation. We still fear Him—that healthy fear—we love Him, but there’s a sense of intimidation because He’s so wonderful, He’s so awesome. And understanding who He is, and how holy and beautiful He is, and what did I do to deserve His forgiveness, and that-that’s the holy reverence and fear of God.
