From the book “Truth For Today: A Daily Touch of God’s Grace” by John F. MacArthur

In honor giving preference to one another. - Romans 12:10

If you are devoted to brotherly love, it goes without saying that you’ll give preference to other believers. That means you’ll have genuine humility and will not “think of [yourself] more highly than [you] ought to think” (Romans 12:3; see also Philippians 2:3). It also means you will give honor to fellow Christians and take initiative to put them first.

You will not flatter another believer merely in the hope of having the compliment returned or to gain favor with them. Instead, you’ll express to them real appreciation, respect, and love as a fellow member of the family of God.
