Homesick for Heaven (January 22, 2021)

From the book “Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective” by Randy Alcorn

Kumusta po kayo? And welcome to our devotion.

In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

John 14:2-3 (ESV)

I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

Philippians 1:23 (ESV)

Ang devotion po natin ngayon is entitled, “Homesick for Heaven”, ang ganda ng title, very catchy. And since we are looking at this devotional, “Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective”, I hope that you are indeed anticipating and looking forward to heaven.

We were saved by and for Jesus Christ and therefore though we do have loved ones here like I have my wife, I have my daughter and they mean the world to me. But, compared to the joy that I would have when I get to be with Jesus that is so glorious.

We are in the world but we are not of the world, right? Our citizenship is in heaven no longer here, so therefore, we were made for heaven. And therefore, sana po, if the Lord and when the Lord blesses us in the world, I pray that we would not be too attached to it because we were not made for just now, we were made for heaven, for eternity.

Our devotion comes from the book:
