From the book “Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective” by Randy Alcorn
Blessed Monday everyone. Welcome po sa ating ikaanim na linggo ng ating devotion. Sixth week on looking at this devotional written by Randy Alcorn, Seeing the Unseen, sixth week natin sa 2021. Today we will be looking at two passages again, John 10 and Isaiah 53.
15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.”
John 10:15,18 (ESV)
12 Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many,
Isaiah 53:12 (ESV)
and he shall divide the spoil with the strong,
because he poured out his soul to death
and was numbered with the transgressors;
yet he bore the sin of many,
and makes intercession for the transgressors.
Today we’ll be discussing about the suffering of Jesus Christ, that He suffered the most. Sabing ganun ng ating devotional, “In this world of suffering and evil, I have a profound and abiding hope, and faith for the future—not because I follow a set of religious rules to make me better, but because for forty years I’ve known a real Person and today I know Him better than ever.” And I ask you do you know Jesus? We know that he’s referring to Jesus. Do we know Him better each day? I hope we do.
It is in Christ alone that we find hope as we live out our life here with the anticipation of the life with Him then in heaven. Kasi kung wala tayong tinitignan na matibay na moog bilang ating sandalan o ang pinanggagalingan ng ating kalakasan, then we would struggle really in this world full of suffering and evil. “Through inconceivable self-sacrifice, He has touched me deeply, given me a new heart, and utterly transformed my life.” I hope we are reminded of that. Sana hindi ito katotohanan na alam natin tapos iniisantabi lang natin. I hope that this profound and familiar na pahayag ay lagi nating iniisip at niyayakap.
“Some people can’t believe God would create a world in which people would suffer so much. Isn’t astonishing that God would create a world in which no one would suffer more than He? That God did this willingly, with ancient premeditations is even more remarkable.” Kaya sabi niya, “Whenever you feel tempted to ask God, ‘why did You do this to me?’ look at the cross and ask, ‘why did you do that for me?'”
