From the book “Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective” by Randy Alcorn
Magandang Biyernes sa ating lahat. Blessed Friday everyone. Today we would be looking at two passages as we continue on with our daily devotions, Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective.
10 “I the Lord search the heart
Jeremiah 17:10 (ESV)
and test the mind,
to give every man according to his ways,
according to the fruit of his deeds.”
5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Colossians 3:5 (ESV)
Wow these are strong passages. And you may ask how does this relate to our intentions on having a daily dose of eternal perspective? Ang ididiscuss natin ngayong araw na ito is defeating lust and feeding right passions. And why are we going to be talking about this? Kasi alam natin, as we live for Christ here on earth, while we await His coming back, while we await that glorious day for us to be with Him we need to live excellent lives here, hindi po ba? Para saan? Para sa luwalhati ng Panginoong Diyos, and so people would see our lives and in be drawn to Christ as they see the changed lives. The life that we live. Di ba? So, that is why we need to defeat lust and feed the right passions.
Sabi rito ni Randy Alcorn, “God made a universe in which righteousness is always rewarded and unrighteousness is always punished. Purity is always smart; impurity is always stupid. If we plant purity today, we will reap a rich harvest.”
