2020 Daily Devotion (March 30 – Dec 26)

This week’s devotion will be led by our Bible Study Teachers.

Saturday, October 3 | Week 27, Day 6 | Matthew 6:9

9 “Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.”

Matthew 6:9 (ESV)

Friday, October 2 | Week 27, Day 5 | Jeremiah 20:7-18

7 O LORD, You have deceived me and I was deceived; You have overcome me and prevailed. I have become a laughingstock all day long; everyone mocks me. 8 For each time I speak, I cry aloud; I proclaim violence and destruction, because for me the word of the LORD has resulted In reproach and derision all day long. 9 But if I say, “I will not remember Him or speak anymore in His name,” then in my heart it becomes like a burning fire shut up in my bones; and I am weary of holding it in, and I cannot endure it. 10 For I have heard the whispering of many, “Terror on every side! Denounce him; yes, let us denounce him!” All my trusted friends, watching for my fall, say: “Perhaps he will be deceived, so that we may prevail against him And take our revenge on him.”

Jeremiah 20:7-10 (NASB)

Thursday, October 1 | Week 27, Day 4 | Matthew 5:9

9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”

Matthew 5:9 (ESV)

Wednesday, September 30 | Week 27, Day 3 | Matthew 6:25-33

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Matthew 6:25-33 (ESV)

Tuesday, September 29 | Week 27, Day 2 | John 6:68

68 Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”

John 6:68 (ESV)

Monday, September 28 | Week 27, Day 1 | Habakkuk 3:17-19

17 Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, 18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. 19 God, the Lord, is my strength; He makes my feet like the deer’s; He makes me tread on my high places.

Habakkuk 3:17-19 (ESV)
