From the book “Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective” by Randy Alcorn
Beautiful Thursday to everyone. Salamat sa pagsama niyo sa akin sa ating daily devotions. Today we’ll be looking at Proverbs 16 and Romans 14.
2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes,
Proverbs 16:2 (ESV)
but the LORD weighs the spirit.
12 So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Romans 14:12 (ESV)
Wow! These two passages are telling us that God sees the heart and He knows our intents, He knows our motives and He will have the last say, because we will give an account to everything that we have done. Ang title po ngayon ng ating devotion is, “Who we are in the dark.”
“Image is how we look on the outside. Character is who we are in the dark when no one but God can see us.” That is convicting, hindi po ba? What image do we project? Image is how we look on the outside, but character is who we are in the dark when no one but God sees us. Character is who we really are. I mean, people can say lots of good things about us but who we are is only seen by the Lord, right? We can in fact fool other men, in fact we can fool ourselves. We can be so self-deceived that we are who we think we are but God sees the heart. “All a man’s ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the LORD” (Proverbs 16:2, NIV).
Anyone can look good in front of an audience or even in front of their friends. It’s an entirely different thing to stand naked before God, to be known as you truly are on the inside.
Our devotion comes from the book:
