A Demonstration of Matchless Love (January 25, 2021)

From the book “Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective” by Randy Alcorn

Beautiful Monday morning everyone. Welcome to our third week of our daily devotions and today brings us to Romans 5:8. This should be familiar to all of you:

but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8 (ESV)

Beautiful, beautiful truth of God’s love and because Romans 5:8 discuss about God’s love, we will be looking at, itong devotional natin, a demonstration of matchless love. Habang tayo po ay babalik sa ating devotional, “Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective”, it’s very important for us to have a firm, and stern grasp of God’s love for those who believe in Him.

Sabi po dito ni Randy Alcorn, “God could have created us without loving us, but He would not have gone to the Cross without loving us.” Ang ganda nuh? Ulitin ko, “God could have created us without loving us”. Yes as a Creator, He could have created us without loving us but He would not have gone to the Cross without loving us because the cross is where justice and mercy meet. It’s where righteousness and grace meet, it’s where we see the matchless love of God. Sa kultura natin ngayon, lagi natin naririnig, prinopromote, that you are wonderful, you are lovable, yes, but God created us in His image, but because of the fall we have been tainted with sin. Therefore all throughout Scripture, without God redeeming us, we are depicted as depraved and children of wrath.

The Gospel would not be the Gospel—the good news would not be the good news— had it not been for the bad news. Why would there be a need for the good news if there’s no bad news? The bad news is we are wretched sinners but God being rich in mercy made us alive and lavished on us His love through Christ.

17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:17-19 (ESV)
